JOINT GRANT FOR ROMA STUDENTS AND THEIR TUTORS
IN HIGH SCHOOLS THAT TEACH UP TO GRADUATION LEVEL

Program objectives:
To enhance the opportunities for Roma students to continue their studies, to help them pass their school-leaving exams and pursue their studies in a higher education institute. The Foundation intends to demonstrate the merits of a support model that successfully keeps Roma high school students from dropping out.

Program description:
For five years the Foundation supported 380 students a year on average. It gradually phased out the program in such a way that from the 1998/99 academic year onwards would-be first graders could no longer apply for support, from 1999/2000 onwards would-be second graders could no longer apply, etc.

In the 2000/2001 academic year support was only available to students in their final year, and the program will come to an end in 2001. The Foundation is planning to organize conferences on closure to present the Program and its results to the organizations that can potentially continue it.
