description:
The Soros Foundation annually announces library support application schemes with the
same objectives but with a focus on a different area each year, in keeping with the
strategy and documentation published by the OSI NLP.
The Board assesses applications once a year in the following two categories:
1.) Development of services for national and ethnic minorities; improving library services for people with impaired health; development of services for children – applications can cover specialized training, the launch of new services, elaboration of the related methodology, and document procurement.
2.) Support for operating as a non-profit information and local community center – the applications can cover the procurement of technical equipment for the services, CD-ROM devices, manuals, and database development. 10 libraries are invited to apply for support for the development of a non-profit information system model, implementation of the related training course, and elaboration of the course material.
